Playbook – AHA Blended (Online + Skills)

Use this when you teach AHA HeartCode blended courses, where students:

Complete the AHA online portion, then
Attend an in-person skills session in Hovn.

This playbook shows you how to set up the online Material, blended Course, and skills Sessions so students know exactly what to do and you can issue certifications through the AHA eCard Connection.

Outcome

When you’re done, you will have:

A Material for the AHA online portion
A Course Offering using the correct HeartCode Blended course
One or more Sessions for the in-person skills check

Before You Start

You should already have:

At least one Instructor profile set up
At least one Location created (where skills are held)

How AHA Blended Works in Hovn

Hovn handles:

Directing students to the AHA online portion via the Student Portal
Managing your skills session rosters
Storing grades & required files
Submitting Rosters to AHA via eCard Connection

You will:

Add the online HeartCode Material
Create a Blended Course using the correct catalog preset
Create Skills Sessions for the in-person component

Step 1 – Add the Blended Learning Portion

Select the correct online Material from the Material Catalog.

Add the HeartCode Material

Go to Materials
Click + Material
Search for HeartCode BLS Online
Set the Price you charge for the online portion
Save

You now have a reusable HeartCode Material for any blended BLS class.

If students purchase their own keycode

Choose any Material ending in - Purchase Link.

(Hovn still delivers instructions, but the student pays AHA directly.)

Upload Keycodes (if you are issuing them)

Go to Materials
Select HeartCode BLS Online
Click + Keycodes
Paste your keycodes
Save

Now Hovn can automatically deliver keys to students who register.
