Setup a Blended Learning Course

Deliver ARC online access through Hovn and streamline blended class delivery

ARCBlendedPlaybook.mp4

🎯 Use this when:

You need to create a blended ARC course where students complete the online learning through the American Red Cross, and you deliver the in-person skills session. Hovn delivers ARC access links directly through the student portal, so learners don’t need to search their inbox or dig for the course.

✅ Outcome:

🧭 Overview & Prerequisites

Before you begin:

🔗 Step 1 — Configure Online Access Link

RCLCLinkSetup.mp4

Start in the ARC Learning Center.

  1. Log into ARC Learning Center
  2. Click Request Online Class
  3. Select your organization
  4. Search for the correct blended learning product (e.g., Basic Life Support Blended)
  5. Choose an end date (we recommend Dec 31 of the current year)
  6. Enter a high number of learners (ARC does not charge per seat)
  7. Submit as a $0 transaction
  8. Copy the generated URL

📌 Use this same link all year. You can request a new one next year to keep your records clean.

📦 Step 2 — Add ARC Online Access Material in Hovn

Now deliver that ARC URL via Hovn.

  1. Go to Materials → Add a Material
  2. Select the American Red Cross version of the course (e.g., “ARC BLS Online”)
  3. Leave the price at $0
  4. Hovn will auto-fill the title, description, and access instructions
  5. Paste the ARC URL from Step 1 into the Access Link field
  6. Click Save

🎯 Hovn will now deliver this material automatically to every student in their portal.

🧪 Step 3 — Create the Blended Course Offering

AddRCLCMaterial.mp4

You’re now ready to create the actual course.

  1. Go to Courses → Create a Course
  2. Choose the ARC blended base course
